Mercy is born out of the extremes. The extremes of being Black in America. The extremes of survival. The extremes of unyielding love for a culture that has constantly been fractured, forgotten, and yet—always fought for. With this project, I’m weaving together the voices of over 10,000 Black Americans, collecting a lexicon shaped by pain, brilliance, resilience, and legacy.
